Now I’m not saying I wasn’t entertained by the beautiful knockout, I’m just saying that I’m not sure we can truly say Holly Holm is back. Yes, she got a knockout; however if I’m being honest, Bethe Correia was never a high-caliber opponent. Some of the fights she won most recently could have swung the other way. I want to say Holm is back, but I don’t want to get ahead of myself just yet.

What should be next for Holly Holm?
Holly’s manager recently released a statement saying that Holm was going to wait for a title shot, whether it was at 135 or 145 pounds.

Cris Cyborg quickly had something to say about the statement Holm’s manager made. For once I agree with her. Holm has yet to beat a fighter who is prominent enough to deserve another title shot. If Holm decides to stay at 135 pounds, she should fight once more. I’m thinking Julianna Pena, or a rematch with either Germaine de Randamie (at bantamweight) or Raquel Pennington. If Holm decides to go back to 145 pounds, I think it’s safe to say that she should scrap with either Cat Zingano or an Invicta FC featherweight like Charmaine Tweet.

I will say this, the title shot looks more realistic in the 145-pound division.

Whatever Holly decides to do next, is definitely something to watch for. For now, she should enjoy the moment before jumping into any other fights. Impressive win, but not enough for a title shot.

Regardless, it’s nice to see The Preachers Daughter back in the win column.
